The Iris Project Residency in Echo Park, California is designed to provide artists, curators, writers, and creative thinkers from diverse backgrounds and disciplines with ample space and time to explore and push boundaries in their respective practices. We firmly believe that new ideas and perspectives emerge when creativity is not constrained by production or material exchange pressures. Our goal is for these benefits to extend beyond the residency and enrich the wider creative community. The Iris Project Residency is managed by Artist Mark Licari and Curator Kate Rosenheim and is a sponsored project of Venice Arts, a non-profit arts service organization. We are proud partners with The Ford Family Foundation, Yucca Valley Material Lab, and DucatoPrize.

Three low-cost residencies are awarded annually. Residents are expected to cover travel expenses, meals, and art supplies. Those who receive a residency are not obligated to publish, exhibit, or perform.

The Iris Project Residency provides artists-in-residence with a range of development opportunities and engagement with the Los Angeles Art Community. If you have any questions, please contact info@irisprojectresidency.org.
